About Emma Cox

How I Work

For me, creativity is like mycelium, connecting me with the people and world around me. Cornwall has always been my home and inspiration, from its sea-swept coasts and granite moors to the people, their histories, and their folklore.

I work across writing, photography, painting, and sketching, often letting one form flow into another. My practice is guided by the pace of the natural world and the changing seasons. The movement of light and dark. Dormancy and growth. Stillness and motion.

Exploring Cornwall Through My Creativity

This website is both a gallery and a journal. Think of it as a selection of pathways winding through the Cornish peninsula. There is always a clear way ahead, but you are free to wander if another path calls to your curiosity. There is no right or wrong direction.

Alongside my visual work, I write about Cornwall through stories, poems, observations, and essays. However, Cornwall’s inspiration does not always root me to the place. It sparks my imagination to write fantasy stories with complex characters and rich world building.
